Author Guidelines

Welcome to Medicare Institute Research Press (MIR Press). Authors are requested to read the following guidelines carefully before submitting their work. Adherence to these instructions will facilitate a smooth editorial and publication process.


1. Scope of the Press

The Press accepts original scholarly works in the fields of:

  • Medical Laboratory Technology

  • Physiotherapy

  • Nursing

  • Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

  • Public Health

  • Biomedical Sciences

  • Allied Health Sciences

  • Clinical Research

  • Healthcare Management

  • Medical Education

  • Interdisciplinary Health Sciences


2. Types of Submissions

The Press accepts the following categories of scholarly work:

  • Undergraduate Thesis

  • Postgraduate Dissertation

  • Student Research Projects

  • Faculty Research Publications

  • Academic Books and Monographs

  • Conference Proceedings

  • Case Reports

  • Review Articles

  • Institutional Reports

  • Research Protocols


3. Originality

Authors must ensure that:

  • The submitted work is original.

  • The manuscript has not been published previously.

  • The manuscript is not under consideration by another publisher.

  • Proper acknowledgement is given to all sources used.

  • All listed authors have approved the submission.


4. Manuscript Preparation

Language

  • Manuscripts should be written in clear academic English.

  • Grammar and spelling should be carefully checked before submission.

  • PDF (for reference copy)

  • Supplementary files, where applicable

  • Paper Size: A4

  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm)

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font Size:

    • Title: 16 pt Bold

    • Headings: 14 pt Bold

    • Body Text: 12 pt

  • Line Spacing: 1.5

  • Text Alignment: Justified

  • Page Numbers: Bottom Centre


5. Manuscript Structure

Authors should prepare manuscripts in the following order:

  • Title

  • Author Information

  • Institutional Affiliation

  • Abstract

  • Keywords

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review (where applicable)

  • Methodology

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • Acknowledgements (optional)

  • Conflict of Interest Statement

  • Funding Statement (if applicable)

  • References

  • Appendices (if applicable)


6. Abstract

The abstract should:

  • Be between 150–300 words.

  • Clearly summarize the objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions.

  • Be followed by 4–6 keywords.


7. Figures and Tables

  • Number all tables and figures consecutively.

  • Provide appropriate titles and captions.

  • Submit high-quality images (minimum 300 DPI).

  • Ensure permission is obtained where required.


8. References

Authors should use a consistent citation style throughout the manuscript. The following styles are accepted where appropriate:

  • Vancouver Style (Preferred for Medical and Health Sciences)

  • APA 7th Edition

  • MLA (where applicable)

  • IEEE (for technical submissions)

Example (Vancouver):

Sharma R, Patel A. Clinical Laboratory Techniques. 3rd ed. New Delhi: Academic Press; 2024.

Example (Journal):

9. Ethical Requirements

Authors must confirm that:

  • The work is free from plagiarism.

  • Ethical approval has been obtained where applicable.

  • Patient confidentiality has been maintained.

  • Appropriate informed consent has been obtained when required.

  • Artificial Intelligence tools, if used, have been disclosed appropriately.


10. Similarity Policy

Authors are expected to submit manuscripts with an acceptable similarity level according to institutional requirements. The Editorial Office may request revisions or reject submissions that contain excessive similarity or evidence of plagiarism.


11. Editorial and Peer Review Process

Each submission normally follows the following workflow:

  1. Initial Editorial Screening

  2. Scope Verification

  3. Technical Review

  4. Quality Assessment

  5. Revision (if required)

  6. Final Editorial Decision

  7. Production

  8. Publication

The Editorial Board reserves the right to accept, request revisions, or reject any submission.


12. Publication Charges

MIR Press follows a "Pay After Acceptance" policy.

  • No publication fee is charged at the time of manuscript submission.

  • Publication charges become applicable only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

  • Payment of publication charges does not influence editorial decisions or guarantee publication.


13. Copyright

Authors retain responsibility for the originality of their work. By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that they have the necessary rights and permissions to publish all included content.


14. Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for:

  • Accuracy of the submitted information.

  • Proper authorship attribution.

  • Compliance with publication ethics.

  • Timely submission of revisions.

  • Responding to editorial queries.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submitting your manuscript, thesis, project, or other scholarly work, please confirm that your submission complies with the following requirements:

☐ All authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to its submission.

☐ The manuscript falls within the scope of Medicare Institute Research Press (MIR Press).

☐ The submission has been prepared in accordance with the Author Guidelines of the Press.

☐ The manuscript file is in an acceptable format (Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) or other approved format), and all required files have been uploaded.

☐ The title, abstract, keywords, author information, institutional affiliation, and contact details have been entered accurately.

☐ All references, citations, tables, figures, and illustrations have been properly cited and formatted.

☐ The work complies with accepted standards of publication ethics and academic integrity.

☐ Any required ethical approval, informed consent, or institutional permission has been obtained where applicable.

☐ The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism, and the similarity level complies with institutional and Press requirements.

☐ Any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in the preparation of the manuscript has been appropriately disclosed, where applicable.

☐ The authors understand that the manuscript will undergo editorial screening and may be subject to peer review before a publication decision is made.

☐ The authors understand that MIR Press follows a "Pay After Acceptance" policy. No publication fee is payable at the time of submission. Publication charges, where applicable, become payable only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

☐ The authors understand that payment of publication charges does not guarantee acceptance. Editorial decisions are based solely on originality, academic quality, ethical compliance, and adherence to the publication policies of the Press.

☐ The corresponding author agrees to receive all editorial communications through the registered email address until the publication process is completed.
