Research Edge and Publication (REP)

The Publication Screening Committee is responsible for conducting the preliminary assessment of all submissions received by Research Edge and Publication (REP) before they proceed to the peer review stage. The committee ensures that submitted manuscripts, dissertations, monographs, conference proceedings, book chapters, and academic publications comply with the publisher’s editorial, ethical, and technical requirements.

The objective of the screening process is to maintain publication quality, ensure compliance with publishing standards, and facilitate an efficient peer review workflow.

Initial Technical Check

Upon submission, every manuscript undergoes an initial technical evaluation to verify compliance with REP's submission requirements.

The technical screening includes:

  • Completeness of submission files
  • Manuscript formatting compliance
  • Language and readability assessment
  • Author details and affiliations verification
  • Reference and citation format review
  • Figures, tables, and supplementary material verification
  • Compliance with publication guidelines

Submissions that do not meet technical requirements may be returned to authors for correction before further processing.

Scope Verification

The Publication Screening Committee evaluates whether the submission falls within the academic and disciplinary scope of Research Edge and Publication.

Scope verification includes:

  • Relevance to the publisher's academic disciplines
  • Alignment with the aims and objectives of the publication series
  • Scholarly significance and originality
  • Suitability for the intended audience
  • Compliance with publication categories and subject areas

Submissions outside the scope of the publisher may be declined before peer review.

Similarity Check

To uphold academic integrity, all submissions undergo similarity screening using recognized plagiarism detection tools.

Similarity assessment includes:

  • Detection of copied content
  • Self-plagiarism identification
  • Duplicate publication screening
  • Unattributed use of text, figures, or tables
  • Verification of proper citation practices

Editorial Action

  • Low similarity with proper citations may proceed to review.
  • Moderate similarity may require revision.
  • Excessive similarity or evidence of plagiarism may result in rejection.

All cases are evaluated individually by the Publication Screening Committee.

Metadata Verification

Accurate metadata is essential for indexing, discoverability, citation tracking, and scholarly visibility.

The committee verifies:

  • Author names
  • Institutional affiliations
  • Corresponding author details
  • ORCID identifiers (where available)
  • Book or manuscript title
  • Abstract and keywords
  • Publication dates
  • ISBN, DOI, and other identifiers
  • References and citation metadata

The committee ensures that metadata complies with international scholarly publishing standards and indexing requirements.

Copyright Verification

The Publication Screening Committee verifies that all submitted content complies with copyright and intellectual property requirements.

Copyright verification includes:

  • Confirmation of author ownership of submitted work
  • Verification of permissions for third-party materials
  • Copyright declaration review
  • License agreement verification
  • Confirmation of originality and publication rights
  • Compliance with Creative Commons licensing policies where applicable

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for any copyrighted material included in their submission.

Screening Outcomes

Following evaluation, submissions may receive one of the following decisions:

Proceed to Peer Review

The submission satisfies all screening requirements and is forwarded for peer review.

Minor Technical Revision Required

The author is requested to address technical or administrative issues before review.

Major Compliance Revision Required

The author must resolve significant concerns relating to formatting, ethics, metadata, or copyright.

Declined Before Review

The submission is rejected due to scope mismatch, ethical concerns, excessive similarity, or failure to meet publication standards.
